MMAA COM Meeting May 2004

Minutes of Annual General Meeting of the Masonic Motorcycle Association of Australia Inc (MMAA) held on Sunday 23 May 2004 at the “Cut Paw Paw” Café in Yarraville


Meeting Opened 10.15am


Present:

Terry & Lorraine Webster, Ian Voerman, Dot & Greg Marshall, Noel & Leonie Weaver, Glenda & Roger Coates, Grant Bates and Paul Dolan


Apologies:

Andrew Webster, Karuppan Chockalingham, Peter Simpson, Michael, Braiden & Courtney Fernando, Tony Bruce-Mullins, Simon & Dick Nichols


Minutes of Previous Meeting:

The minutes of the previous meeting held on Saturday 11 October 2003 having been distributed by email and/or mail were passed unanimously.


Corrections to Minutes:

There were no corrections to the minutes


Business Arising from Minutes:

Terry advised that many members were still unfinancial and suggested a few would not be rejoining re lack of interest etc. Grant advised that members would be invoiced the $25.00 yearly fee by email.

Treasurers Report:


Terry advised, in the absence of Chris Packham, that the Financial Statement would have to be Audited and ratified at a future meeting due to the relocation of the Treasurer.

That accounts previously moved but still owed to Dot Marshall totalling $31.73 be reimbursed.” CARRIED


Moved: Glenda

Seconded: Leonie

That accounts paid by Terry and totalling $80.50 be reimbursed.” CARRIED


Voting of Office Holders:


A Nomination Form had been received nominating Grant for the position of Treasurer. There being no further nominations Grant was elected unanimously to the position of Treasurer.


A Nomination Form had been received nominating Ian Voerman for the position of President. There being no further nominations Ian was elected unanimously to the position of President.


A Nomination Form had been received nominating Terry for the position of Public Officer. There being no further nominations Terry was elected unanimously to the position of Public Officer.


There being no nominations for Secretary and Sergeant of Arms, Dot & Greg were re-instated to these positions respectively.

That the signatures of Grant Bates and Ian Voerman be added to the Bank Account and Chris Packham be deleted.” CARRIED


Moved: Noel

Seconded: Greg


That at ensuing Annual General Meetings, the appointed President, Secretary and Treasurer be signatories of the bank account with any two of the three able to sign documents.” CARRIED


New Business:


  • Terry advised that the Annual Celebration of Motorcycling would be held on the 18 – 19 September 2004 at Bombala and hosted by the MMAA Bombala Chapter. He also spoke of the previous gathering in 2003 which was a huge success and attended by a few Victorian members.

  • Terry advised that someone was needed to set up the Website and that a Newsletter was needed to keep members up to date. Ian offered to do the Website with Terry compiling the Newsletter.

  • Terry confirmed that he was still happy to look after the membership applications and banking.

  • Dot submitted clothing/cap order forms for members to peruse. Terry asked all members to email their clothing orders to him as soon as possible.


Terry then passed the meeting to the new President, Ian Voerman. Ian suggested that more fund raising would be done and there would be more bike rides on the itinerary. Ian also advised that the Office Holders would meet separately on occasions to help create a smooth running of the MMAA Victorian Chapter.

That a vote of thanks be given to Terry for all his work in setting up the MMAA Victorian Chapter and his work as President.” CARRIED



There being no further business the meeting concluded at 11.10am.
