Business Arising from Minutes:
Incorporation
Terry advised that an individual from NSW (not connected with the MMAA) had been seeking to pick up our Incorporation status. As Terry was reluctant to loose same to someone not associated with the MMAA, and due to the fact that he had found out that a registered CPA was not needed to audit the books, he then recommended that we keep the MMAA (VIC) incorporated. Terry also advised he had just paid the 3 year Incorporation registration fee of $36.70.
Moved: Terry
Seconded: Grant
“That the minuted motion specific to the dissolution of the Incorporation status in the minutes of 12 June 2005 be overturned.”
CARRIED
Moved: Grant
Seconded: Steve
“That the MMAA (VIC) remain Incorporated.”

Grant went on to advise that when Allan Mason produced his drafted structure of the MMAA National Body, the MMAA (VIC) scrutinize same.

Terry reported a bank balance of $853.16. He advised that there had been expenditure of $313.90 comprising $36.70 - Incorporation fee and $277.20 – 2006 Patches for National Rally. He advised that there had been an income of $177.00 – Sales of Patches & Badges at National Rally. He went on to say that he still had a majority of Patches left over as not all members attending the National Rally bought a Patch.
Moved: Terry
Seconded: Leonie
“That the Treasurers Report as read be accepted.”
CARRIED
Terry advised that he would talk to National President Cliff Hobson re surplus Patches from the National Rally. Greg suggested members order Patches prior to the National Rally to save on purchasing Patches that may not be bought by attending members.
Steve requested the creation of a family membership fee. There was much discussion regarding the structure of what would constitute a family membership.
Moved: Grant
Seconded Steve
“That the MMAA (VIC) Executive Committee meet to consider a family membership structure for members to consider at the next general meeting of members to be held before the end of June 2006.”
CARRIED
Members were reminded that the Rules of Incorporation would need to be amended with regard to any membership fee structure changes accepted.
Presidents Report:
Grant reported that the National Rally held at Wagga Wagga NSW had been a success. The Victorian members who had attended had enjoyed the weekend (particularly the venue) however, he felt the holding of a Lodge Meeting on the Saturday night had excluded some members.
Grant advised that it was “Victoria’s” turn in choosing an appropriate venue for the National Rally to be held in 2007. Grant asked all members to think of a venue (equidistant between Sydney and Melbourne) to report back at the next general meeting of members. Grant suggested Canberra as a possible venue. Grant advised that the decision would be made at the next general meeting of members. He also went on to say that any suggestions could be sent to the Secretary before the next meeting.
New Business:
Leonie requested a ride be organised. Dylan suggested Daylesford as a possible destination and offered to organise same.
Steve advised that he would organise another ride in a few months time. Grant suggested he be mindful of not clashing with Easter and that May would be an appropriate month.
Terry reported that the Eastern Metro District – District 115 Co-ordinator Lionel May was attempting to assemble a box trailer as a mobile BBQ/Kitchen for use by other Masonic Groups. Terry advised that he had gone ahead and tentatively booked advertising space for the MMAA (VIC) for an approximate cost of $220.00.
Terry went on to say that in the meantime he had made an appointment with Melbourne Trailer & Caravan Supplies Pty Ltd who had offered to give the MMAA (VIC) bits and pieces (other than a trailer) free of charge. Terry proposed that the MMAA (VIC) build a mobile BBQ/Kitchen, with the vision of it being used by ourselves, or hired to other Lodge or community bodies to aid the raising of monies for Masonic community charities and non-Masonic charities. Noel recommended Bendigo Trailers as a contact to purchase basics and names of others who could help. After much discussion regarding storage of same, administration, bond, possible maintenance/cleaning etc. it was suggested by Noel that the MMAA (VIC) construct such a trailer (with MMAA (VIC) logo’s) for donation to the Task Force.
Greg would contact the Task Force President Rick Dwyer, (in confidence), to make enquires if they already had a mobile BBQ/Kitchen and if not, if they would be interested in using one, if donated by the MMAA (VIC). Greg would report back his findings to the next general meeting of members.
Terry reported on the success of the “Community Connections” Project and reported that a total of 17 computer systems had been given away into the community to deserving organisations and families.
Greg reported that the Werribee Lodge were holding a “Special Effort Raffle” between February and April 2006 to raise funds for the “Community Connections” Project.
Steve Ellis suggested other raffle ideas
Next Meeting:
The next general meeting of members was scheduled for Sunday 4 June 2006 at 10.00am. Members unanimously chose Gourmet on Gamon for the next meeting venue.
The Executive Committee chose to meet on Saturday 18 March 2006 at 9.00am at Mordialloc. Terry would advise the venue to the Committee.
There being no further business the meeting concluded at 12.00pm
