MMAA COM Meeting Sept 2005

Minutes of Annual General Meeting of the Masonic Motorcycle Association of Australia Inc (MMAA) held on Sunday 11 September at “The Avenue Food Store” 69 Victoria Ave, Albert Park


Meeting Opened 10.22am


Welcome:

Vice President Greg welcomed all members present together with new member Steve Ellis.


Present:

Grant Bates, Terry Webster, Jed Rennie, Greg Marshall, Steve Ellis, Dot Marshall, Leonie & Noel Weaver


Apologies:

Ian Voerman, Lorraine, Andrew & Thomas Webster, Michael, Braiden & Courtney Fernando, Terry Doyle, Michelle Duiker, Ian Lanyon, “Chocka” Chockalingham, Roger & Glenda Coates.


Minutes of Previous Meeting:

Business Arising from Minutes:

Terry reported that when today’s Annual General Meeting minutes were received, and accounts audited, and upon submission of same to Business Affairs, he would advise them of our request to dissolve the Incorporation status of the MMAA (Victoria Chapter).

Treasurers Report:


Terry tabled the Income & Expenditure report for the 2004/2005 financial year.

That the Income & Expenditure Report as presented by accepted.” CARRIED


Dot expressed her thanks to Terry on behalf of the MMAA (Victoria Chapter) for keeping such an accurate record of the income and expenditure of the Chapter throughout the year.


Presidents Report:


Ian advised by email that he had to, yet again, submit his apologies. He saw no sign of a trip to Melbourne for a while and was booked to see family in Strathbogie and Bathurst at Christmas.


He also wrote that the National HOG meeting was scheduled to be held in Alice Springs the following week and predicted a good turn-up. It would finish at Henly on Todd on the 17 September 2005.


Ian finished by saying his Presidential year had been full of unexpected changes that were for him, only just settling down. Ian hoped the following year would be more fruitful for the MMAA.

New Business:


  • Terry reported that the Bombala Festival weekend was organised for the 17 and 18 September 2005 and that he would not be attending this year due to work commitments.

  • Terry also advised that the 17 and 18 September 2005 weekend was the Motorcycle Show to be held at the Exhibition Centre (Jeff’s Shed) Melbourne. Terry suggested that interested members could meet up and go as a group. He asked that those interested in attending the Motorcycle Show contact the new Sergeant of Arms, Steve Ellis who would co-ordinate same.

  • Steve advised that the Broadford Vintage Motorcycle Race was scheduled for Sunday 2 October 2005 with a cost of $15.00 per person. Terry suggested that interested members could meet up and go as a group. Those interested in attending the Broadford Event were asked to contact Steve who would co-ordinate same.

  • Terry reminded members of the HMAS Cerberus Open Day on Sunday 23 October 2005 commencing 10.00am till 5.00pm. Admission for this event was free. Terry suggested that interested members could meet up and go as a group. Those interested in attending the “Open Day” were asked to contact Steve who would co-ordinate same.

  • Terry reported that the 4th MMAA National Rally was to be held at Wagga Wagga, NSW on the weekend closest to Australia Day 2006. This is yet to be confirmed by the organisers, the Central Coast Chapter and more details would follow when advised by Cliff Hobson (4th National Rally Co-Ordinator).

  • Terry handed out Buckenderra & Bombala Patches to those who had attended those National Rally’s and Grant asked for prompt payment of same.


Next Meeting:

The next meeting would be a General Meeting held on Sunday 2 October 2005, which is the “Broadford” event.


There being no further business the meeting concluded at 10.55am.
