MMAA COM Meeting March 2007

Minutes of Meeting of the Masonic Motorcycle Association of Australia Inc (MMAA) held on Sunday 25 March 2007

Minutes of Previous Meeting:

Business Arising from Minutes:

Terry reported the raffle had had a good response and he would arrange for the winning tickets to be drawn on Good Friday.

Treasurers Report:

Terry reported a bank balance as at 25 March 2007 of $944.82.

That the Treasurers Report as tabled be accepted.”

Terry advised that accounts were owed to himself ($41.60); Noel Weaver ($100.00) and Australia Post for Post Office Box Renewal ($102.00).

Terry advised that the MMAA National Body owed the VIC Chapter a total of $525.80 representing badges plus a regalia figure (in excess of $1,000.00).


Presidents Report:

Grant thanked all members for attending today’s meeting.


New Business:

Terry tabled correspondence from Holmesglen TAFE re Maintenance Courses.


Terry advised re correspondence between Cliff Hobson re membership.


Terry tabled an email from Christopher Whittaker re Full Circle 2007 Charity Ride (raising money for the Salvation Army and Princess Margaret Hospital) whilst riding Australia’s coastal highway No. 1. Christopher was advising his plans of arriving in Newcastle (27/5/07) and Geelong (1/6/07) and his request for a couch for the night. Noel advised that Geelong accommodation could be arranged. Terry advised that Christopher was willing to join the MMAA and said the badges would be supplied at nil cost. Christopher also requested Masonic Riders meet him in Geelong on arrival. Terry would advise Christopher of available accommodation.

That the MMAA VIC Chapter pay for the membership fee of Christopher Whittaker.”

With regard to the MMAA AGM, Terry advised that the bank accounts had not been sorted and that minutes had not been sent to members. Dot reported that she had typed the minutes, had them confirmed by Cliff Hobson, and sent in “pdf” format to Alison Gimbert (MMAA National Secretary), together with the Treasurer’s Report and Membership Summary (also in “pdf” format) on 7/2/07.


Grant advised that the VIC Chapter had never paid any funds to the National Body since its inception. He asked all members be mindful of this and realise that this will be a serious cost to the Chapter. Grant advised that members would be informed in due course. Grant asked Dot to calculate $5.00 per head per member since incorporation (remembering that the first year for all Founding members was 0.00). Terry also advised Dot to be mindful of family memberships that were formulated in 2006 at 0.00.


It was decided to hold a ride on Sunday 22/4/07 via the Great Ocean Road to Lorne. Dylan Weaver (as Road Captain) would draft up an email for the Secretary to send to all members.


Next Meeting:


The next meeting would be held on Sunday 15 July 2007 in the Private Dining Room of 3 Station Pier Restaurant at 10.00am. The meeting would comprise a General and Annual General Meeting.
